Huge DHCP log folder filling up C drive, event id 1016

What:

DHCP server on Windows 2012

Problem:

C drive on the server is gradually filling up, eventvwr shows below error.
Event ID: 1016
The DHCP service encountered the following error when backing up the database: An error occurred while accessing the DHCP database. Look at the DHCP server event log for more information on this error.

Solution:

1. Check size of the following folder, in my case it was 30GB
%systemroot%\system32\dhcp
2. Right click on dhcp folder, choose Properties. On the General tab click Advanced and untick "Allow files in this folder to have contents indexed in addition to file properties" apply just for this folder.
3. Open up DHCP manager, restart the service, right click on server name and select "Backup...", confirm default location.
4. Done
