What:
HP Officejet Pro 8500A e-All-in-One Printer
Problem:
Officejet 8500 giving out the error message "Out of Paper", when it is not out of paper.
Solution:
- Go to Start->Printers
- Right click on printer and select "Printer properties"
- Select "Device settings" tab
- Find on the list Tray 2
- Click on it and select "Not Available"
- Save
If that problem happens only for some documents, then incorrect settings may have been embedded into document.
In Word 2007/2010 document:
1. Go to Page Layout, under Page Setup section click on little arrow located on the right
2. Click on the "Paper" tab, you will see under the "Paper Source" that whoever created that Word document chose to embed a Tray, which your printer does not have
3. Highlight Default Tray (automatic select) for both "First page" and "Other pages"
4. Click OK
This article is a real time saver. You will NEVER find such quick, accurate fixes on HP's website. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteTray lock 1, 2 or none. Default tray 1, or 2. I can't see anything that says "List Tray 2" or "not available". I am using a macbook, if that matters
ReplyDeleteAbove instructions are for Windows, it will be different for macbooks or those options might actually be not available ... sorry I have tested it only on Windows pc.
