How to install HTC Android Phone driver for USB tethering

What:

Android phone and Windows 7

Problem:

Windows can't find and install tethering driver.

Solution:

  1. Go to Device manager
  2. You should find on the list device with missing driver
  3. Right click that device and select Update Driver
  4. When the window pops up, select "Browse for driver software on your computer"
  5. On the next screen, click on "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer"
  6. It will ask you the device type, locate on the list "Network Adapters" and click on it
  7. Select manufacturer, it should be "Microsoft Corporation"
  8. Select "Remote NDIS based Internet Sharing Device"
  9. Hit Next to finish installation

  1. What the fuck?! you are a life saver, as one of the few people on this planet who is using an old smashed screen htc phone as a router and who accidentaly uninstalled the old driver, you saved my life, you are my personal jesus
